WHAT TO EXPECT AT 200 HOURS YOGA TEACHER TRAINING
THE BODY
“The Body is the temple of the Spirit.“
In our 200 HOURS Yoga Teacher Training, the journey of self-discovery begins from the body. Eveything starts from the body, it is the primal vessel for exreriencing life. In order to realize the wisdom lying within we need to study the human anatomy, physiology and biomechanics of the human body. You learn the importance of alignment and when to let go, how to use props, variations or modifications of yoga postures. And the first student you are going to teach is yourself! It is really amazing when we play both roles and switch from one into other. Our goal is to help you awaken the “Teacher” within.
THE BREATH
“Learn how to exhale, the inhale will take care of itself.”
Breath for humans is the carrier of prana, the vital energy. Many people have neglected the importance of breathing resulting in an unbalanced life. Breathing is not just a mechanical process, breath is the link between mind and body. In this yoga teacher training you will learn the basic techniques to cultivate breath awareness and increase your vital energy. Conscious breathing heightens awareness and deepens relaxation. The ability to breathe is a gift, let us be grateful each day for that gift.
MIND AND SPIRIT
“You don’t have a soul. You are a Soul and you have a body.”
The next stop on this inner journey of self-transformation, is the mind. As we exercise the body, so we need to exercise our mind. Because Mind is the mediator for the Spirit. It is important to become aware that everything comes from inside our mind. Any aspect of yoga pracice, in reality, is always aiming at training the mind and become masters and not servents of it. Every morning we take time learning mental concentration techniques to empower the ability for focusing the mental energy. An intensive yoga teacher training provides an excelent opportunity for dialy and dedicated yoga practice and this has a profound effect on the students.

Ancient yogis had realized that all is in our mind therefore we need to understand its function and master it and not let it master us. We are going to provide you wtih basic techniques and support you on this inner quest. Every morning or evening you will have the opportunity to train your mind with your body as well.
The Four Stages of Meditation
- Pratyahara
- Dharana
- Dhyana
- Samandhi
Teaching Methodology
Teaching is different than practicing: When you teach you are the example for your students
- How we create a series of postures (sequencing) and how we present a class from start to finish.
- How we create a safe environment for our class.
- How we observe a class as a whole or individual practitioners and what the priorities are.
- Compact, to the point instructions for effective teaching styles.
- Rhetoric, the importance of body language, voice and touch in teaching
- The behavior and ethics of a Yoga teacher and
- The evolutionary learning process in a class of practitioners.
History and Philosophy
The Mind (Manas & Budhi): This module is particularly important, because it includes the study and analysis of traditional texts and other teachings. We aim at deepening in the philosophy and essence of Yoga. Through the analysis and study of the texts, we discover how we can apply the ancient philosophy to modern everyday life. In this way, students are able to advance their personal spiritual quest while at the same time solidifying the ethical code for teachers in the modern times we live in.
Introduction to the following ancient texts:
- Yoga Sutras of Patanjali
- Hatha Yoga Pradipika
- Bhagavad Gita
