In our 300 HOURS Yoga Teacher Training, we move deeper in the understanding of vinyasa yoga asana practice. Students will also be introduced into the technique of Vipassana, the most ancient meditation technique that the Buddha had gifted to humanity. The 300 HOUR Yoga Teacher Training Course is a sincere effort for the manifestation of the fruits of yoga in our lives. The principle remains the same. Abhyasa and Vairagya are now applied and strengthened more deeply and distinctively as we learn to observe the every single moment filled with fleeting sensations and feelings, and learn to maintain equanimity. It is a journey from Bahiranga (external) to Antaranga (internal) Yoga. We further move in our spiritual journey and sail over from Astiak (orthodox) school to Nastika (unorthodox) school of Indian philosophy.

Breathing is meditation; life is a meditation. In this advanced yoga teacher training program we delve into the study of the energy system and Pranic Anatomy. We are going to analyze the energy flow and you will learn all about the Nandis, the five Koshas, the five Vayus, the Bandhas, the seven Chakras and more. You’ll learn how to practice your self and how to teach your students advanced breathing techniques to put all the theory into practice. Also, anatomy and physiology of the breath and its effect on the body and various practices related to prana including prana meditation.

MODULE ANALYSIS

MODULE 1: The Organic Flow

This module consists of 4 parts.

1. Vinyasa Flow & Organic Movement: We define historically and etymologically the concept of vinyasa from the Upanishads to Tantric philosophy, reaching today. This knowledge and research will lead us to create series of asanas in a circular flow that exude the power of the tradition of the sacred scriptures of the Indian culture. We learn to create cycles of movement, vinyasas, that correspond to the elements of nature Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether. Together with the movement we are looking for the music and the reason that can accompany our practice. Poetry and quotes that empower practice.

2. Chakra Vinyasa & Mudras: We discover the symbolism of the chakras through tantric traditions and through Indian art from the 17th to the 19th century. A.D. We focus on energy knots (granthis) and their untying. We use different mudras depending on the energy intention/direction. How to create thematic practices based on the chakras. How we build series of asanas that target specific energy centers, in a practice with a gentle or fast flow.

3. Art of Sequencing: How do we build a practice according to the level of the students? How do we guide the practitioner in order to progress into a demanding asana? How can we create inspired but also safe sequences of postures within a classical hatha yoga practice but also in a practice with a fast flow? What is a thematic course? These questions and more are going to be answered in this module.

4. Roots of Modern Yoga: In this module we present a general overview of Yoga Makaranda and focus on the traditional teaching of Tirumalai Krishnamacharya who has been recognized as one of the great reformers in the history of modern yoga. Yoga Makaranda or Yoga Saram is the first book that Krishnamacharya wrote in 1934, wanting to convey his own method of practice that he created through the research of 27 ancient Indian texts.

MODULE 2: Yoga Injuries & Detox

This module consists of 2 parts.

1. Yoga Anatomy & Safe Yoga: On this module we will analyze the anatomy, kinesiology and myoperitoneal connections of the body using a 3D program as well as palpation, kinesthesia/experiential anatomy exercises. Reference will also be made to the most common Musculoskeletal dysfunctions that we can encounter in our practitioners and in our own bodies (eg neck pain, back pain, scoliosis, tendinopathy, etc.).

2. Shat Kriyas – Yogic Cleansings: The Shat Kriyas (the Six Purifications) are mentioned in the Hatha Yoga Pradipika texts and are traditionally considered an important part of Hatha yoga practice. Autumn and spring are two seasons when ideally one can try detoxification and energy cleansing. In the other two seasons, winter and summer, the conditions are more intense and we accumulate enough toxin, our energy becomes heavier and the mind needs to be emptied.

MODULE 3: Elevate Your Skills

This module consists of 2 Parts.

1. Yoga Teaching Skills: After 20 years of teaching experience at many levels (group, private, teacher training, yoga retreats, seminars) Christos Krishna offers useful tips and tools so that your students have a safe, enjoyable and effective experience every time they come to your class. You’ll learn how to create and lead skilfully targeted classes for Beginners, Multi level Classes with mixed students, One to One classes (private class) and Online Classes for groups or private. 

2. Hands On Assist & Adjust: We will emphasize on observation and adaptation by sequence and association. In assessing when and how much you need to help/accommodate. In the code of ethics for touch customizations. In developing confidence and establishing trust when corrected by touch. In gaining the ability to help students experience stability, alignment and extension in each asana. In offering the right help/adjustment according to different body types.

MODULE 4: Yoga Psychology & Spirit

This module it consists of 2 Parts.

1. NLP for Yoga Teachers: This is an essential training that takes you on a journey into the secret world of subconscious communication processes. You will have the opportunity to learn techniques, tools and practice, so that your communication is a true reflection of yourself, what you want to express. You will experience the undeniable benefits of “conscious” communication. On personal level, you will discover new aspects of yourself that will help you better define yourself as a teacher and as a person. At the end of the journey you will see your connection with others in a different way and you will manage communication with mastery.

2. Yoga Nidra the Psycic Yoga: In this module, we give you the foundation and experience so you can teach Yoga Nidra with full awareness and comfort. We have bridged Eastern wisdom with Western knowledge for you to clearly understand its secrets. You will discover the wisdom found in the practice and the philosophy from which it derives. You will realize the power of words, syllables and voice. You will learn to select and manage speech clearly. At the end you will have embodied the depth, essence and sacredness of Yoga Nidra. This way you will have the necessary basis and tools (course samples, practices, etc.) to cultivate your personal teaching.

MODULE 5: Spiritual Philosophy

This module consists of 2 Parts.

1. Yoga Philosophy and History: In our lectures on the philosophy and history of yoga, we will only touch on a handful of these issues. We’ll take you back to the beginnings of yoga, explore its past and learn how it spread to the west. To help you comprehend the traditional teachings and their applicability today, we will dispel common misconceptions about Yoga and go deeper into Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. Yoga’s etymology, its meaning, its goals, its eras, its paths, its Patanjali Yoga Sutras (Yoga Darshan),and Ashtanga Yoga’s current relevance.

2. Sanskrit Terminology: A fundamental knowledge of the Sanskrit language is crucial in order to fully assimilate the Sanskrit names of the Yoga asanas, mudras, mantras and pranayama techniques. You will be able to recall the Sanskrit names of the various body parts and the asana names at the end of the course, not just because you memorized them, but also because you comprehend how the names are constructed.

This module consists of 2 Parts.
